April update
I know a lot has happened lately, but I'm having a hard time finding what to say!
Jacob is officially a toddler now as he is toddling around almost faster than we can keep up with him. He is definitely a solution for weight loss. Now, if I can just figure out how to gain some back!
We haven't went on any trips lately, although, Jacob did get to spend the night with Nana and Pops again recently once Pops was well enough from his ankle surgery so that Nana could tend to just Jacob and less Pops. Speaking of, Alan (Pops) is doing really well and has officially graduated from his wheel chair! He's able to put more weight on the healing ankle. He may be able to chase after Jacob when he's all healed! ;) We'll just wait and see - don't want to push it.
We do have one upcoming trip as Jacob's great gradma, "Little Mammie" turns the big 9-0! It's hard to believe she is that old. She's still around 70/80ish in my mind. She had a light stroke recently and has been fairing pretty well, considering. She stays sleepy and sluggish most of the time. She has led a wonderful life and will soon be rewarded in Heaven for it.
And, speaking of Heaven, we're still pretty sparse on church going. Between our need for rest, Jacob's sleep schedule (or lack thereof) and timing of different church services, we haven't been a lot. We planned to go on Easter, but gathered that if there is one time (or two) that people go to church, it's Easter and Christmas. I just didn't want to subject Jacob to all those kids that aren't normally in church nurseries and getting sick. I know he has to build his immune system and go through it one day, but just not yet.
We played low key this Easter. Jacob isn't quite old enough to understand Easter bunnies, eggs and all that. So we saved our money this year and just had lunch with Mamaw and Papaw and spent some time outside for a bit. We keep getting these one or two day warm weather teasers and then it's back to wind and cold rain. I think we've all got cabin fever!
